Yesterday, after a lengthy and verbose email to a friend, she suggested that I start at blog... so I am! I have actually dabbled in blogging before - without much success, but this time, I'm determined to keep it going. Time will tell.
So, what, pray tell, is this blog about? Well, it's about being an Aunt. I have 14 nieces and nephews - truthfully, I inherited 7 from my husband, but they are all so special to me and making the time to see them as often as possible is a major priority in my/our life.
To that end, I feel as though I've seen it all. Well, as much as an Aunt can see - as my mother says "it's different when they're your own." I kind of hope they aren't because each of my nieces and nephews are incredible and I hope our children one day are equally as amazing!!
So, really, what is this blog about? Well, it's best to start with the woman who suggested I start this blog. She's been on bed rest and hasn't been able to figure out what she needs in order to prepare for her baby's arrival. She's my best friend's friend (you following me so far?) and I was more than happy to lend my expertise. Which baby carrier is best? Do you need a bassinet? What is the difference between all these strollers?! What's worth splurging for and what can be bought cheaper? So, I told her. It took me hours to come up with all the items and my suggestions, and my writing was a little rough. But, I gave her some good information and she truly appreciated it. That's what I hope to do here; keep track of all the recommendations I've made to others as they prepare for baby. The purpose is to have this list in written form for friends (and myself!) in the future. Ideas, products, anecdotes to help the soon-to-be Mom navigate the billion dollar industry that is BABY!
